Movement Through the Standards utilizes the latest brain research along with the best teaching practices of differentiated instruction and multiple intelligences to provide examples of how movement can be used to teach academic concepts, build community in the classroom, and energize the learning environment. Each of the academic concepts are tied into state and common core standards. In this course we will be using movement to encode information in the brain differently than strictly explicit traditional teaching methodologies. Using movement to model academic concepts in Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies and the Related Arts that can be used right away in the classroom. We will be also looking at curriculum and common core and national standards through the lens of cross-curricular applications. This being an active class, it is recommended to wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
